Melbourne City has 2 teams

The Division of the Victorian State Team into 2 city teams of Melbourne gave birth to the most thrilling rivalry of the KFC Big Bash League. Basically the initiative was taken in 2011 with the launch of KFC T20 Big Bash when the management planned to split the Melbourne City team in Making 2 Melbourne teams. This immensely attracted crowed attention and the rivalry gained popularity within no time, this has brought more and more people to the stadiums are the crowd got the opportunity to watch not just 11 but 22 starts of the Melbourne Soil at the Home ground i.e. MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) & Docklands Stadium.

The popularity of the rivalry can be judged by the fact that i hold the record of attracting the biggest crowed for a local match in the Cricket History, i.e. almost 81,000 spectators were recorded at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the match against Melbourne Stars & Melbourne Renegades.
